Henry’s Nursery – personal

nursery_1

Please forgive me for my absence from blogging... I have been taking some much-needed time to catch up on editing, regroup/refocus and get ready for our sweet baby boy's arrival (any day now)! I still have a couple of open wedding dates for 2013 (and we have started booking for 2014) - I would love to hear from you brides, so keep 'em coming! :) We will kick off spring/summer wedding season with a GORGEOUS Seaside, Florida wedding in May, so watch out. It's going to be an incredible summer...

----------------------------

I wanted to share some images of our little nursery with you guys before life gets crazy with a newborn... (I figured it would never be this clean again)! This room is such a collaboration of love from our friends and family and it's become my favorite little corner of the world during the last few months. When we found out we were having a boy and started planning Henry's nursery last year, I kept thinking, "Colorado comfortable." If I could trick this little guy into thinking he grew up in Colorado, I've accomplished my goal. Ha! Too bad he will know it's Texas when we open the door and it's 105 degrees :/

No, but really: I pray we have created a comfortable, simple, lovely space for Henry to sleep, grow, and know he is so ridiculously, dearly and out of control loved.

(sources are listed at the bottom of the post... feel free to share and leave a comment if I missed something or if you have any questions!)

Rockport, massachusetts : a beautiful place

This summer after shooting two weddings on the East coast (and being completely exhausted from doing so), Blake and I spent a few days relaxing in Rockport, MA : my new favorite place to visit.  I rarely take pictures on vacation because lets face it... no one wants to do their job on vacation :) I'm so glad I made an exception for a day and took some photographs of this quaint little town.

We spent three full days eating lobster, whale watching, and reading books on the porch of the historic Emerson Inn - all wins in my book. Blake and I are REALLY good at relaxing and this was the perfect gift in the middle of such a crazy wedding season. We can't wait to hopefully take Baby Barfield there next summer and keep up our new family tradition in Rockport, MA.

PS- Whale watching was incredible/life-changing/beautiful/you need to do it if you haven't :)

  • courtney: i love all of these pictures. thanks for sharing! when we used to live on the kitsap peninsula, we'd do our fair share of spying on whales - every summer, orca and grey whales make their way into the puget sound and are really easily visible. i know you feel married to the east coast now, but maybe theres a barflton trip in the stars to the beautiful pacific northwest with our briarwood babes?? ill start planning.

Emmy ⎪ Niece Photography

My precious niece, Emmy, is 6 months-old already! Wow, how the time flies. Lucky for her, she has an aunt that documents every move she makes when we have our girl-day-ins (because I'm still not confident nor have the car seat to take her anywhere :))  Her smile is pretty much the most beautiful thing on the planet and her laugh can turn any bad day right around. She is loved so dearly.

  • Courtney: She's so beautiful. I want to squeeze her. And her little baby feet. So precious!

  • Jenna Reyna: SO precious! Great photos & beautiful family.

Emmy girl

Well, if you know me (even to the slightest degree), you will know that my sister and brother-in-law welcomed a sweet little girl into the world about three weeks ago. I think I have sufficiently covered all social media outlets and made my love for this baby girl quite apparent (I'm sure it's annoyed people out there). The only last outlet to cover was a blog post : )

Enjoy some images of my gorgeous niece!

Merry Christmas from Emmy's proud aunt. - J
